Kim - Boats and Boots and Beautiful Gardens Oct 6

Camino de Santiago Oct 6, 2023

Today we completed the Spiritual Varient of the Camino Portugese by taking a boat to Pontecesures and joining back with the regular Camino route. The approx 20 miles by boat followed the same path that they believe the body of St James took to arrive in Santiago de Compostella. Along with way we saw fisherman harvesting oysters, mussels and clams. We also saw many of the 12 crosses that are part of the Way of the Cross along the river.

Once the boat landed in Pontecesures, we continued by foot through Padron, where we enjoyed reaquainting ourselves with civilization and city life, running into our Ohio friends Bill and John again, and trying the infamous Padron pepper! Total Camino miles today - 20 by boat and 4 by foot

Pazo do Farmello - This afternoon we had the privilege of touring this manor house and grounds and learn about it's incredible history - what a beautiful story it has to share.

Home sweet home for tonight - rest and a super nice dinner (to make up for our supermarket picnic dinner yesterday!)
