Kim: Day 4

SA2SOS Jul 24, 2015

Today we made the Colorado Springs area home base and completed a whirlwind tour. The weather was perfect!

We said Adios to the Dinosaurs in Denver and enjoyed our first stop at the US Air Force Academy. I found it very interesting being here and seeing it all first hand, since Andrew was just here in June and I saw so many pictures and heard so many stories then. It was just as beautiful as he described.

Lunch in an Airplane topped out mid day adventures at The Airplane Restaurant.

Although we weren't able to take a guided tour of the US Olympic Training Center, we did manage to see quite a bit of the grounds and have some fun too!

The rest of the day found us in the Manitou Springs area, where we explored the Garden of the Gods Visitor Center and got all the info we need for some morning exploring tomorrow.

Then we topped of our day with a ride on the Cog Railway up to Pikes Peak. The weather was perfect and the views were breathtaking. No altitude sickness for any of us and we even managed to snag 2 geocaches on top of the peak! It was a perfect end to a fun filled day.

As we were searching out the sunset today we were on the Cog back down - it was beautiful, but we are not in the picture...
