Kim: Day 5 - a day late
Well yesterday came and went without much time or internet - the Rockies seemed to get in the way. So here is a quick view of yesterday's adventures...
The Garden of the Gods was a perfectly awesome way to start the day before leaving the Colorado Springs area. Only pictures can do it justice - fortunately we had another fantastic weather day.
On the road again... to Great Sand Dunes National Park - what a fun place - wish we could have spent all day playing in the Medano Creek.
But onward we went, crossing the Rockies at Wolf Creek Pass. We enjoyed views of the creek at the summit, Treasure Falls as dusk and awesome views of sunset as we decented the mountain. We didn;t need to search out the sunset last night - it certainly found us!
Our day ended as we pulled into Durango and settled into the Historic Strater hotel. We definitely time warped back to the time of Mae West - even though it was 11pm, we took a photo tour around the hotel - simply stunning and fun!
