Stacy: Day 17 - It's the End of the World as we Know It...

Camino de Santiago Oct 9, 2023

And, I feel fine! Seriously. We were all rested up.

And, we had a bus tour to Finnisterra (and other sights).

First stop: a beautiful spot. Not sure what the significance of this place was– might have only been for the views.

Visited one of the most well-preserved horreos (sp??? Sounds like "Oreos" to me every time they say it! LOL), but I forgot to take a photo of the outside of it! 😂

Second stop: an absolutely gorgeous waterfall! No idea what the name ofit is. It is the only river in Europe to enter the sea via a waterfall.

Then, on to Finnisterra! AKA "the end of the Earth" Finnis Terra (Latin, I believe) Even though we have our Compostelas, we brought along our credentials so we could obtain the stamp here.

I fell in love with this "little" guy!!! I couldn't bring him home, though, because he was too big. Long end of his body, he was probably 8" tip to tip. NO room in the suitcase, and no room in the carryon. :(

Next, off to Muxia! If you have seen the movie, "The Way," at the end, they make it to Finnisterra, but they actually filmed it at Muxia [better views]. No stamp available, here, for our credentials, but oh my goodness, the views were AMAZING. Kim and I sat there for several minutes (as close as we could get without getting wet), watching the waves crash against the rocks.

Then, back to Santiago de Compostela for the evening, where the last activity is a LOT of shopping! We stopped in soooo many stores. We didn't buy "everything;" we were just looking for the items that struck us the most (whether gifts for others, or stuff just for ourselves).

Tomorrow, we take the bus back to Porto, and the day after we fly home.
